Ok I have 2 options for buying my first car.
I am looking to trick out my car and make it a tuner.
It would be either a…
1998 honda civic stick shift 130,000 Miles.
or a
1999 Mitsubishi eclipse GST Turbo stick shift 102,000 Miles.
I DONT want a new car, I want an older model I can fix up, so out of these 2 and ONLY these 2… Can anyone give details on which one is better to have that will last a while..

The civic would be the better choice, most imported cars such as Toyota, BMW, Honda, Acura, and Volkswagon are really dependable. Hondas have a really long life if you can take good care of it, hitting 200,000 miles won’t be a sweat. Mitsubishi might do decent in making some electronics, but their cars aren’t that great. They have trouble hitting 150,000 miles without proper repairs. If you take a notice of the cars people drive you will probably see many Toyotas, Fords, Acuras, and Hondas, there aren’t many Mitsubishis though.
Make sure you get the car diagnosed first if your buying from a private dealer cause stick shift usually has more problems than atomatic.
go with the civic its a good car. has alot of miles tho, try to find one with less miles. but its a good car, and good gas mileage.(about to be $4 a gallon this summer..something to think about). and i hear that mitsubishi is a hard car to work on, and they break alot, thats what my friend told me, and he turns cars into tuners.
From an automotive repair point of view, I would go with the civic for sure because the Mitsubishi will put you in the poor house very quick….

get the Mitsubishi, especialy if it has better gas milage. Because it has less miles on it it wont die on u
GET THE CIVIC!!! Hondas are much better cars than Mitsubishis!
Get the Civic. I have the Honda Civic and I love it because it has great mileage!
