if your vehicle is stock your current ‘racing’ techniques will very shortly expose one of the many short comings of the Honda B18 vehicles…anyway, someone will be rebuilding the drivetrain soon, however you asked, so here goes-this takes practice, and is not standardized-it varies a little from car to car, depending upon the performance level of the engine, the ‘grab’ of the clutch, and the type of tire and wheel you have on the front of the car…this is what you want to happen, you want to accelerate as quickly as possible, so you have to practice, but never ‘drop’ the clutch-you must engage the clutch lightly without moving the vehicle to tighten the drivetrain before applying the full power band of the engine-as you know from looking at factory data, your best torque/hp ratio on that engine is around 3800 rpm, so you should start there as a launch rpm, this will give you a good starting point, the you need to check your 60 foot times…but you are on the street, so you do not have all info-do yourself and those of us who have to drive on the streets a favor, take your racing to a sanctioned drag strip, pay your 15 bucks for a ‘test and tune’ or ‘grudge match’ night, and practice, get your reaction time, your 60 foot times, and some advice from others on what tire and wheel combo to use, what launch rpm to use, and ultimately, what repair parts are best for your vehicle…good luck and be safe.

Well depending on what ecu your running you can take you car to 7600 rpm for max hp the type r you can take to 8000 rpm for max hp you can take both motors further but with out tunning there is no reason to

    Listen to Mikey.
On any front wheeled drive vehicle, you NEVER drop the clutch. That makes you look f*cking retarded. You’re supposed to let it roll off other wise if you drop the clutch you’re going to lose a lot of traction.
Also you should know your gear ratios. At first gear if your car doesn’t go any faster at 7,000 RPM than it would at 6,000 RPM you’re not going to need to go to 7,000 RPM especially from 1st to 2nd because it’s going to drop all the way down again.
So one : Never drop your clutch. It’s a FWD and you’ll lose traction.
Two : I’m going to assume that you “race” at a track and everyone makes fun of you. You have to learn what your car could handle and when your gears max out. Generally from 1st to 3rd – that’s when you’re going to need to find out how much your transmission will let you go, and from there on you should shift at 7,XXX RPM.
