does the 93 honda hatchback come with a vtec?, or do i have to buy an after market engine?
if not. what year did they start the vtec?
and also what does the vtec exactly do?, i’v heard it adds a boost at certain RPMs similar to a turbo but how much and is it even noticable?
what i’m picturing is the feeling of a small compression turbo, so i want to know if it is worth chasing the vtec civic or should i just go with a normal civic?
(and for any one who post a comment about ricers or crap like that, if you honestly took the time to read this and post a comment that civics are crap and your imaginary car in your imaginary mansion’s 12 car garage would smoke any civic or crap like that… dont waste my time, )
thank you for your replies back!

si hatch comes with vtec, dx does not. it kicks in around 5500 rpm and you can feel it but its definatly not going to feel llike a turbo.
depends look under your hood and look if it says vtec on the engine then it is there 2 kinds the d-series which has 130 hp and the almighty b-series which has 170hp the b-series engine will say DOHC vtec on top. around 4200 rpm it uses a bigger cam lift which gives it that boost. but if u have just a regular motor without vtec do a b-series swap it will bolt right in and u can use the same wiring harness
Only the EX had the vtec engine (D16Z6)
