my mate doesnt believe i had 211bhp out of a 1.6! (non turbo/charger)

yes, its very possible, they have 160bhp to begin with, so to push an extra 51 bhp isn’t that unbelievable — japanese cars have always been able to get big HP out of small engines, its not just the fact that its a ”just a 1.6” its the way the engine is engineered, and the factory tune, the B16 has a crank and cam setup that is designed to cope with high revs, VTEC, variable valve timing, and a second camshaft is triggered at 5,600rpm by the ECU and engine pressure, which syncs the valves and gives extra lift, the engine also revs to over 8,500 rpm…most engines redlines are 7k — the B16 doesn’t start redline until 8. the B16 is more than ”just a 1.6” — well technically its not, but will massively out perform any regular 1.6, and a B16 honda is in a different league to other 1.6 hatches like an astra, focus, golf etc, and even ’sports’ like the fiesta Zetec-S it leaves for dead. most people don’t believe that a 1.6 n/a produces 160bhp, 100bhp per liter….fact, they can easily put out 211bhp and more….the same as a 2.0 evo engine can be tuned to over 700bhp…
just show him vids on youtube, alot of people think that big cc = bigger HP,… wrong!

I do not believe you neither – a rolling road test gives a bhp at the wheels not the flywheel.
Yo get the flywheel bhp would require the engine out and for it to be bench run on a dyno.

211 at the flywheel is possible with that setup.
