i am wanting to know the best possible combination to start off with in a B series motor for a honda build up this will be turbocharged set up but i am starting from the block and adding as i go i havent bought any parts yet witch is why im asking…and i dont want to hear any crap about hondas cant do anything or v8’s are better who realy cares as long as there fast

Josh they are many motors from the B-serious. Since you mention you will build up the bottom end I suggest a B20/Vtec. Alone the B20 block wont hold boost well but with strengthen cycilnder walls and piston and rods this motor can be a motors 2.0L alls for the motor to spool up fast and may I say trq wow.

I just recently built my 99 civic ex with a B16a motor from the ground up. I currently put down 337 HP on 15 lbs of boost, and 497 HP on 35 lbs of boost. Heres what I did. The B16 blok and head was totally stripped, and tanked at the machine shop. I had the block sleeved with darton sleeves, then an eagle stroker rotating assembly installed, it took it from a 1.6 liter to a 1.8 liter it included the eagle crank, eagle rods, and Mahle pistons (9.0-1) compression ratio, with the eagle rings for the pistons. Then on the head I installed Skunk2 stage 2 turbo cams, camgears, valve springs, valves, and retainers. A greddy timing belt, Cometic head gasket, a ACT 6 puck sprung hub clutch, act 9 lb flywhee, and last but not least a Turbonetics turbo kit. On the inside I put a Greddy Emanage Ultimate, Greddy turbo timer, and Greddy Profec E-01 boost controller. All together my build cost about $25,000 counting the car ($6,000), the exterior upgrades (hood, fenders, body kit, wheels- $2,500) and the stereo system($2,000). The engine and tranny was $1,300 shipped. and I have put about $12,000 into the performance. So I look at it like this I have a 500 HP car that cost under $25,000. The only other comparably compared cars with that much HP are the New Corvette Z06-$72,000, The Mustang GT 500, $52,000, or something like a Lamborghini, Ferrari, which both cost $150,000 +. OH just while I was thinking about it I break between the 9’s and 10’s in the 1/4 mile on street tires.
I just took a honda to the junk yard last week
