It will be safe up to 6 pounds. If u want ti go higher like the guy said above me u do need the internals. Plus u will have to resleeve the block which is like 1000 bucks depends were u go thats average. but after u can boost as high as your engine can take with internals and everything us done like the ecu, fuel system, etc. your looking at alot of money to make turbo. it would be cheaper to find a eg and pop your h22 in that.
Well to be honest, yes you can boost as long as your TUNE is good, keeping denotation down is the key. Ok before any turbo is swap in you have to make sure the car compression is all good and the motor is running well. It handles 7psi. You need larger injectors, your need a colder spark plugs make sure the plugs, distriutor is all in working order, you need to make sure you upgrade your wore out fuel pump too. Once again tune tune tune. The problem here is the FMI(got the name wrong) there is a flim that needs to be bored out, you can run a sleeve JE engineing charges starting $700 for a sleeve block hit them up.
no… even if you had low miles on it you would have to rebuild the internals(pistons, piston rods… etc.) to run more than 5psi of boost… i used to want one but when i found out how much all that will cost i changed my mind to a 6 inline RB25DET 240sx…
