depends on year Model and engine type, 1996- 2000
1.6L Single Over Head Camshaft (SOHC) = 130 hp standard.
1.6L Doubble Over Head Camshaft (DOHC) = 160 hp standard.
with an exacust system, air intake system and De-cat you might pull an extra 8hp from the Dohc engine.

09 Civics have about 197 hp.
It doesnt get 0-60 fast though, but it also doesnt have a high top speed.
To prove it?
its a small engine. i would compare it to another car that has the same engine and hp match.
idk why your friend is so showy about a honda civic?
to prove it (dont street race)
0-60 is an ok test but dont do anything illegal
