i have a 2000 honda s2000 and i wanna drag race it, now i alraedy know its not a good car for drag racing but i dont care. i only have 3000 right now so i want to know what all i can do to it to make it faster and better for drag racing with that amount? in the future i will be either getting a turbo kit or supercharger, but that will be in a year.

If you are SERIOUS about going turbo then the ONLY things you should buy right now are a new 3″ exhaust system, and a AEM EMS. This will be around $2,500. Now you do not need to buy a header or intake due to the simple fact that a turbo system will delete these from your engine. The exhaust will already be on there and the AEM EMS will not only give you power now (after a good tune) but also after the turbo is installed. A stock S2000 (ap1) makes about 205-215 rwhp on the dyno in stock form, after a good tune on the EMS with JUST the exhaust I have seen 240-250 rwhp. this is quite impressive as it is around a 30+ whp gain from stock form.
The standard bolt-ons are your best bet. Intake, exhaust, headers, et c. Since you have the cash now, go ahead and go for the Hondata ECU also, that will do you the most good(especially if you plan to add boost later). Whatever you do, don’t mess with the suspension. Honda spent millions of dollars and thousands of man-hours perfecting it and anything you do will only mess it up.
check in the s2000 forums, they will have the info on what works and what doesn’t. I would save my money till the turbo kit.
