I Have A Car Question. What Is The Difference Between A Header And A Turbo Manifold?

2 Comments 05 October 2009

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows what the difference between a header and a turbo manifold is? Does the turbo manifold replace the header or do you need both. I have a 96 honda del sol and was thinking of purchasing a performance header, but wasn’t sure if you had to take it out after purchasing a turbo. I was thinking of purchasing a turbo kit down the line. thanks.

A header is a stock exhaust manifold. A turbo manifold replaces the stock manifold to go turbo .. You wont need the stock one any longer .. This is what I do for a living .. Do you need a obd harness adapter? I have plenty

header is for the exhaust and a turbo is for the intake. think of itlike this you intake (mouth) feeds the engine(power converter body) the headers is your exhaust (your butt get’s rid of used fuel crap) headers are just bigger and better pipes to remove the spent gases so that the engine doesn’t have to work as hard to get rid of them, thus having more power . the turbo is like you havin 2 forks with to eat your dinner with. forces more fuel in to make more power
