Is it possible to put a turbo in a f22a1 engine?
I own a 1992 honda prelude f22a1 engine.
and i was wondering how hard would it be to put in a turbo?
what do i need?
where can i get the parts at?
how much do you think it will cost?
is it possible?
and how can i keep it from ruining my engine?
i don’t have enough to do a swap to an h22 so i was kinda just wanted to deal with the f22 i have now
i’m only 15 so thats another reason
also this guy said The turbo and manifold he used was actually for a 4G63 which is out of a 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse and the Manifold and he Redrilled it to fit the F22A1 Head.

- Not very hard, as long as you have all the necessary parts.
- You will need, turbo exhaust manifold, turbo, downpipe, wastegate, intercooler piping, intercooler, blow-off valve, oil feed line, oil return line, oil feed adapter, (water feed line, water return line, Only if using a ball-bearing turbo) Tuning component, Larger injectors.

- Again, Yes, it is possible.
- You can drive on this set-up with a stock motor just fine as long as you have a GOOD tune, but to be safe, I would upgrade your rod bolts, head studs, valve springs and retainers.
- The H22 will be a lot more worth-while
- The ports on the 4G63 manifold more than likely won’t line up perfectly to the f22 head so I would not waste my time.
Turbo is for people who have a lot of knowledge and a lot of money, if you have neither, don’t waste your time, it will be a gigantic headache.

Now a days you literally turbo anything with a piston or Rotary engine. But yeah good luck… Do your research cause anyone can slap a turbo on there vehicles but when it come down to it in the end ” Do you understand air and fuel ratios?” and would you know how to tune your new set up properly. If not you would most likely spend more money there again to go get it tuned so you don’t blow all of your investment.
I know how that feels like cause i just sent my block out to get bored and i can’t wait to get it back and start assembling the new motor. But have fun and stay safe…
