Is The F22 Vtec Engine Worth Spending Over 3k To Build A Turbo Set Up As Far As Power Goes?or Should I Swap It?

3 Comments 27 September 2009

I have a 95 honda accord with an f22 vtec motor.
Im trying to decide if that motor is worth spending all that money building a turbo set up on it, or if im better off just saving up for an engine swap.

if your going to put a turbo on an f22b1 engine you should rebuild the engine and strengthen the internals. Its a great motor to turbo or supercharge because its a very sturdy engine. The h22 is delicate if you swap it in without strengthening the internals. Its really up to you if you like lots of power at low rpms (f22b1) or high revs all the time (h22). The high revs of the h22 makes it not as reliable.

set up a NOS kit with 70-100 shot of wet/dry,you will be beating people at the tracks, but don’t let them know you are cheating.
then after the motor is blown swap a h22a4,now you can nos it or turbo it.
I ran my accord with H22a4 for a year now it still killing people out there, smoke an stock STI last summer.
