I bought the honda two months ago I bought it with a stage 2 clutch, stage two short shifter, full magnaflow exhaust header back, aftermarket intake manifold (no name).But the question is I want to do a motor swap but I dont want to go to crazy, I have some knowledge about motors. I have friends that say a H22a motor out of a Prelude would be good but Im not sure. I read that an Integra GSR motor would be sweet turbocharged. But hopefully you can give me some good advise.
Well first ignore your friends about putting a ‘lude motor in your small car. If you want to hack your car into pieces go ahead. It is a painful swap and it weighs alot more making your car nose heavy. The GSR is a great motor..it has to be one of the best ones out there. But the question is can you afford it? They are pricey..not to mention to put a turbo on one…one thing at a time..lol You might want to look into a couple of other options. You didnt state if your car was a Si…since it will be VTEC if it is. This is also another obstacle and cost..if you have a non VTEC motor..why bother? Other motors to check on are….a b16 a/b puts out a170-180 horse..and its VTEC and will make your car scream. You can use a ZC motor as well, either the sohc version or the 145 horse dohc version. Keep in mind you dont just put a different motor in a car that wasnt meant for it…you will have to do some wiring changes to have this car work right..good luck hope this helps. k20a swap would be sweet,if u go with the h22 u have to put a lot of juice on it.or b18c type r motor from an integra.. either of these two motors will make u crazy on the road..k20a goes up to 220hp and the b18c type r motor goes 200hp..
If You like a lot of torque a B20 out of a crv is a cool swap with no need to turbo or juice it.
I had a friend that did it to a crx it was a sweet pocket rocket that would fly and murder tires.
