My Friend Refers To His Honda Accord Coupe 2.0 As A “sports Car”… Is There Any Validity To This?

8 Comments 29 October 2009

I did a search and came up with a few more references to it as a sports car but I can’t understand why.
My 1.9 turbo-diesel out-performs his in acceleration, top speed, fuel economy etc and mine is just a family car! What gives? Why is this car referred to as a sports car?

sports car usually only referrs to coupes (2 doors) regardless of displacement, performance etc…
doesn’t really matter, performance is what counts, not classification (you save some money on insurance)

because it is used for nothing but drive around with limited space. it doesnt need good performance, just because its a sports car dsnt mean its the bomb

What model is it…….that sounds a little bit like crap talking cause I just sold a 6cyl. ex and if that is what your talking about, you can tell your friend he thinks so. Unless it’s an S2000 but no…………

  5. Jerry Thunder says:

Most insurance companies classify ANY car with two doors as a sports car regardless of any actual performance factors.

Cause he’s a dummy. lol. Honda’s are CRAP. What kinda car do you have? VW Jetta TDi?
Hondas suck and none are truly sports cars lol.

    Let’s add this up:
Honda+Accord+2.0= Sure as hell not a sports car!
He has to face the facts, no Honda is a “sports car.” At the top of their game, they can be considered “ricers”, which is by no means a compilment.
    By the way, kja63,
unless your boyfriends car is a Bugatti Veyron, with a jet engine attached to it, I think you’re full of sh*t…

My bf’s race car goes from 0 to 60 mph in under 1 second. I can never figure out why anyone thinks their street car is anything other than a TURTLE!
