my brother has a lancer evo 2006 with a turbo, and he recently swapped to a new engine
my question, would that engine be able to fit into a 1998 lx honda civic?

NO, they operate in different directions. The EVO motor is set-up to run with the belts/accessories on the passenger and the Civic is on the driver. Also WHY did he swap his motor on his EVO?
why are yu askin this?? are yu plannin to do it yurrselves if someone says yes ?? woooowwww maybe yu should take it to a pro & ask..
peace
i seriously doubt it,
besides, you wouldnt be able to make this swap work, let me tell you why…
1. an evo motor wont bolt up to your honda tranny
2. even if you did buy the correct tranny, its AWD, your civic is FWD so that will cause a problem
3. how is your honda ecu gonna know what the mitsubishi motor is doing? (so now your looking at a new tranny and a new ecu)
4. this is all based on IF the motor will even fit in that tiny as5 engine bay, and i highly doubt it will
