i have a 88 mustang with a 88 thunderbird 4cyl turbo in it, but here is the problem. i went to the store i shut my car off a then went it to get some stuff and then i got in my car and went to start it it started up and i stepped on the car kind of hard and then when it started to run like ****. it there was no power when i would try to drive it i would give it some gas and it would go and then ot would start to lag like start to die kind of it was blowing blueish black smoke it it smells like gas really bad and when i rev it it will not go over 2300 rpm it sounds like a rev limiter or a 2 step which i don’t got any of those . i finelyot it home and when i did i lifted the hood and started it up and i reved it it sounds like a blow off valve is coming thru the intake behind my air filter i just bought a fuel pressure regulator but i was told that that cant be it, but the car is blowing that kind of smoke then its fuel, its running rich wright??? then people told me that it could be the TFI wiwhich had that go bad on me but it aint that because my car starts up fine and idles good but sounds like is has a bad a.s.s cam in it. no rods are knocking. but i dont have any help with this and i need to fix it so i can go back to school. but could it be the sensor on the throttle body??? then i was told that it could be the distributorr it jumped time. could it have jumped time. could that make it run like this or no. please some one help out i need my car back up and running so pleae help

I’m looking for a turbo kit for my Honda D-series engine. I’ve been looking around and I see kits that have 9 parts in them and I see kits that have 49 parts in them. What’s the bare minimum I need for I turbo kit. I’m not a racer, some of the kits say TXGLKWR blah blah blah racing kit street demon blah blah blah. I just want to know what I NEED in a turbo kit to make it work.

so i was driving home from work today and some dude in his Acura RL sped past me. At the red light, I revved my engine and he responded. I drive a Toyota Celica GT.
I knew i couldn’t outrun it but at the same time I knew he couldn’t win by that much because his car doesn’t have too much horse power than mine and his car weighs a lot more than mine. When the light turned green, I revved up to 4000rpm and dropped the clutch for a good launch.
By the time I got to second gear, his car had DUSTED me. I felt truly embarrassed. I’m pretty sure his car was stock and the only thing he changed was his exhaust to make his sound better.
I’m trying to add turbo or a supercharger depending on what’s better for my car.
So my question is, are Acura RL’s really that faster than Celica GT’s? And what do i need to do to boost up my car to keep up with faster cars? Thanks all.

there is a bunch of things your going to need some off the top of my head is the turbo , turbo manifold, hard piping for the intercooler the intercooler itself , blowoff valve and some other things but with that car i would suggest boosting it over 7 pounds of boost unless you do some internal work or you will blow it up my friend did it to his 03 civic. and choose whether your going to go with a boost controller or a wastegate spring the wastegate spring is cheaper but the boost controller is more percise. check some forums and they could tell you the best setup for your ride
