Thinking About Putting A K20a Engine Swap With A Garrett Gt30r Turbo In A Civic?

2 Comments 01 October 2009

I may have the opportunity to purchase a 1994 Honda Civic. It currently has a k20a in it and it has about 200hp. I was wondering where I would be standing hp range if I put a Garrett GT30R turbo in it. Or if there was a better turbo system to put into it. I am shooting for 350hp+ for the Civic.

at 10psi with a Greddy e-manage ultimate Boost controller, you should get pretty close to 350whp.
Little things to add more hp would be:
Cold air Intake from the turbo (probably have to fab it yourself)
Dump tube for the waste gate (very easy to make and gains about 10hp)
2.5″ exhaust (not bigger because of back pressure)
lighter wheels (less weight=faster spooling time for the turbo)
    lightened flywheel
    stronger clutch
CAT delete if your town allows it.
Tubular exhaust manifold, they have better flow than drag manifolds.

You’ll probably be at around that but please please please please lock it up! You’ll invest so much into it and then see it gone the next day! Thieves suck! Good Luck and drive safely!
