Yea so i want to know if I installed a turbo on our Honda Civic 07 sedan dx, what other changes would happen as a result. What I mean is so does that mean I would have to use premium? and would this greatly reduce fuel efficiency. thanks

you would need to use premium gas, adn your fuel mileage wont be affected too much depending on how you drive it
Not only do you need to upgrade your fuel system, but you will also need to have some sort of tuning capability. Hondata is widely used in the honda community for tuning. You can also get away with using a SAFC. Premium is as low as you want to go with fuel. Anything lower will cause detonation, or knock, which basically causes pre-mature wear on your motor and could lead to a blown motor. Some Honda’s have “floating” cylinders, so I would recommend staying at low boost unless you build the block. Your fuel economy will be reduced.
LIES! what octane is, is an anti-detonating formula.
now, if you were to chip your car to add more fuel into the cylinders, then higher octane would be necessary. (the same goes for enlarged fuel injectors) HOWEVER. a turbo increases the vacuum inside your cylinders causing greater compression, no extra fuel or air is provided, (top contributors correct me if i’m wrong!)
meaning, you can still use cheap crappy fuel. : )
btw..
you might wanna upgrade your engines guts (stronger valves, pistons spark plugs, CONNECTING RODS etc.) i hear the connecting rods are that particular engines failing point.
Well yeah, what a turbo does is compress air molecules so it can cram more into your cylinders. When you do this, you will need more fuel to make up for the extra air. A factory car generally cannot do this without upgrading your fuel system and installing bigger fuel injectors. (Bigger injectors = higher flow = more gas being used.) And it would definitely benefit you to use premium.
