I currently own a 2006 Honda Civic Si and was hoping to push out more power with a little help. Which one would be a better choice and why?

Actually for your car a Turbo is the way to go. A good kit by either Greddy or Turbonetics is the way to go. They have all the necessary items you will need including the fuel manangement. As for horsepower you will gain about 100-125 hp and 60-80 ft lbs of torque. DO NOT BUY those cheap kits that dont have your fuel management, as they seem like a good deal to begin with, you will wind up paying more in the long run trying to get the car tuned. Expect to pay around $3,500 for the kit, but a good mechanic can have it on and running in a day.
kinda your choice, they both have there good points and there bad points, they both have lag one is low and one is high if you where smart you have a true blown engine (thats turbo and supercharger) thats biiiiiiiiggggggg bucks. just look around they have really good turbos fine one with ball bearings.
If you fit a supercharger or turbo you gain more performance and lose your car warrenty altogether and a valueble thing to lose.
Don’t modify the engine you Dikhead!!!
You can modify your engine when the car warrenty expires
turbo or supercharger hmm well that really depends on you! It may sound stupid but what sound do you like! hah naw superchargers are nice man u have it right from the start but at the same time turbocharges arent as much of a ahmm. lets look at the pros of em. Easier instalation, instantly change your boost, less wear on your motor if youve taken the right precautions, and they sound cooler. superchargers are nice just not worth it when you start messin with the pulleys!
If you have money to spend why not one of each get a supercharger for the low rpm range and a turbo that kicks in at higher rpm range. VW came out with an engine that has both and some tuners have been doing this for a while
General rule: “turbo charge lag”, “supercharge drag”. Belt driven superchargers give better overall performance, good acceleration at low end, but the belt drive takes some power away at higher speeds.
Turbo charger has bottom end lag as it needs exhaust to perform.
My opinion, superchargers are far and away the best of the two.
To be honest 4 the price you’re gonna spend on either u could prob sell up and get a Type R. Turbo add on to a NA car will prob only push 15-30 bhp :-S The NA engine cant hold alot of pressure. As for superchargers ive never poked my finger in that pie
So i say neither & get a VTEC/Type R
definitely a turbo this way you will have a more constant power with a supercharger you only have better acceleration but a turbo will help at high speeds as well where a supercharger will not give you much power at high speeds.
I prefer super chargers, no turbo lag, but for some cars a turbo are cheaper and/or give more power. Find approximations for both power and price and then make your decision.
