What Kind Of Engine Swap Can I Do To A 1988 Honda Accord?

2 Comments 21 September 2009

I want my old 88 honda accord to be as fast as possible. The engine that’s in it runs, but it’s not in the best of shape and I don’t drive the car that often. So I’m just going to make it as fast as possible. What kind of base engine would be the best one to start with, and what all will fit? I’m pretty sure that I’m going to go Turbo, but I’m not too familiar on Honda stuff. I got my 03 mach1 mustang thats pretty quick, but I want my honda to be faster, and to be my sleeper car. Can anyone help me with that?

is the car stick?? if so go with an integra gsr swap. you can do alot to honda/acura motors and the GSR is a solid base to start with. you could slap a big turbo on it and get an intake/exhaust/cams in it and it would be pretty out! if its automatic you have way less options because its hard to find a motor that fits in a honda thats turbo and automatic. you could always do a tranny swap to but thats ALOT of time and money
    good luck
