Hi everyone,
I’ll cut to straight to the chase. I have a blue 2008 Honda Civic Coupe (5spd, ~4k miles), and I was wondering if there are any after-market parts I can buy for it. So far, I’ve only been able to find replacement parts (bumpers, hoods, etc..) from the respectable dealers. I couldn’t find superchargers or turbochargers.
So does anyone have any idea where to find these two things for an 08 civic?
That leads to some other questions I have.
1. if I find parts for the 06 / 07 civic, can I assume that they’ll work for my car as well?
2. I’ve never installed a super/turbo charger before. Will I be able to do this myself? Or will this require an auto body shop / dealer?
3. Is it safe to do this kind of thing to this generation of Civics (the space around the engine is severely limited IMO)?
Thanks in advance!

1. The 2008 Civics are the same as the ‘06 and ‘07, so all the parts are the same.
2. You will not be able to do it yourself. There are many parts to buy and many different things to install. If you are wrong installing any of them, you will destroy the engine. And installing such a part voids the warranty. Parts include the turbo, intercooler, piping, wastegate, blowoff valve, new manifold for the turbo, new exhuast to handle the pressure, boost controller, just to name a few.
3. Depends on your idea of safe. The space is limited in for the engine for a lot of cars, that is why you need to know what you are doing. Most of the time you have to remove the entire front fascia of your car, and of coarse the radiator, not to mention possibly removing some parts of the engine and relocating others.
Basically it is a long expensive job. Better to hang with the stock Civic and buy a faster car for speed to have on the side. Will be a lot cheaper, less headaches, and if anything blows on the faster car you always have the Civic to rely on.
Go on procivic.com, they have turbo chargers and superchargers, both of which will fit your car. Definitely take it to either the dealer or a mechanic to get it installed, its a huge part of the air intake system which you do not want to screw up. Get an aftermarket exhaust and some new headers, then make the outside look sick. Good luck man
Make sure you check with your dealer so you don’t void out any warranties.
Also, the idea with a civic usually is gas mileage so you really don’t want to compromise that with a lot of aftermarket junk weighing it down.
I’m not a car expert but these two things popped into my head.
try this website for turbo kits http://www.turbokits.com/06-09_civic_tur… do you have the k20 in it or r18?
try somewhere like jc whitney for some additional parts. sometimes it takes a while for the aftermarket parts to come out, so just be patient, before you know it, they will be readily available. never assume that parts for another year will fit your car. always go with what is made just for your year, make, and model. as far as the super charger, you don’t want to start tearing into a car if you have no experience, it will be worth it to pay to have it done. then if anything goes wrong, you can have them responsible, not you.
about the space thing—if they make it, it will fit.
