Personally I like the charm of the 1976 Civic RS.
At just 680kg the car handled like little else; and because it had a nice torquey 1.5L engine throwing out 52bhp, it would given the chance scare whoever was in the seat next to you.
Those sideways hood vents look quite scary, almost like its nostrils are flaring.

there are plenty of fast non turbo/supercharged cars available for cheap. take a pontiac fiero for instance. just the gt fastback models. most others were piles of crap. the 1988 was extremely good at handling corners. the car came stock from the factory with a 2.8L V6, holley intake, multi-port fuel injection, mini tunnel ram intake manifold, ram-air induction, dual exhaust, limited slip rear end, muncie five speed transmission (ask your dad about the muncie tranny. bullet proof. very strong) four wheel vented disc brakes. the list goes on. there are several others new and old that are great cars that get overlooked for some reason or another but they do exist.
hope this helps

One of the guys already had a list of fast non turbo/supercharged cars on his list....so I probably wont mention the names again.
Does it have to be a Civic?.....can it be an Accord? CRX?
If you plan to do a H22 swap, throw in a B series tranny so that you'll get closed get ratios.
2 Doors
- Any Civic 91+ would be good
- Accord 90+
- 90+ CRX (2 seater)
- Del Sol
4 Doors
- Any Civic 91+
- Accord 90+
