Where Would I Find A K20 Complete Engine?

3 Comments 31 January 2010

Thinking about building a Honda Civic, first thing to go would be the stock engine. What recommendations would prefer for the civic’s bodystyle/year? Where would I find a complete K20 engine, different head parts, turbo systems etc.?

k20a is the most powerful honda engine made besides the nsx…c32…..
you can get one here http://www.hmotorsonline.com
the k20a is best when built, either n/a or you can supercharge like i did….i a pushing 400 hp, and i still get 20 mpg in the city and 25 on the highway and i trap 118 mph and run mid 12’s…..
i ran 13.5 n/a with bolt ons and a type R setup with cams and hondata kpro…
the ecu for a k20a is the most advanced ecu to date with the most specialized tuning system when paired with k-pro made by hondata…http://www.hondata.com
you cannot go wrong with the k-series as it has more displacement which equals more tq…and more hp than any b-series….i have never lost a race to a b-series….
they are outdated and i used to build b-series 10 years ago….
    hope this helps

I personally(being a certified Honda Technician) would go with an older civic, like 88-95, and stick with a b18 from an integra, b16 from an si, or a b20 from an older CR-V(with b16 head) they are easier to work with and there are tons more aftermarket preformance parts for them. You can make more power with a b series as opposed to a k20 for the money you will spend.. If you are stuck on the K20 idea, you’d have to look in the junk yard or ebay…… but its going to be a bit pricier than a b series engine………
