get the civic w/ls vtec and turbo it there light as hell and turboed with an ls vtec in it makes it really fast if you dont shift up at like 8000rpms all the time you’ll get great gas milage and tuning is about even with them integras are only slow cause there heavy and to all the people saying integras are faster ls vtec and a gsr are almost identical the ls vtec is from an integra swapped into a lighter car to go faster.

Alright, no offense but it seems you haven’t that much knowledge on Honda’s or the various pros and cons of various style motors when you ask these kinds of questions. If I were you I would stick with a normal 5 spd GSR. This will be about as cheap as a swapped civic with high compression or a turbo because youre paying for that right at 200 hp B18. I am assuming this will be driven somewhat frequently or every day. This being the case I would NOT buy a LS/VTEC being that the compression is so high that the longevity of the motor will diminish significantly and of course you’ll be running 93 or race gas depending on your tune. Also the same can be said for turbos. If you buy something used you cannot be absolutely sure what the mechanic replaced especially when the motor was built. Did they sleeve the block to withstand higher boost as well as all the fuel requirements and tuning etc, or did they just slap on a turbo kit and boost it up? The truth is it takes a good deal of time to correctly balance a turbo, ls/vtec, or supercharger when it was not built to have one from the factory. So, yes you’ll have a great blast in a turbo or high compression motor… but if you’re the one forking out the cash, I would be very particular about what I buy and the quality of the work… I wouldnt want to spend my money on a fast car that lasts a month…
Also, questions like which is efficient and faster and cheaper to tune are very very subjective. You can make any of these “faster” than the other by the amount of money you spend building a car. You can make it “efficient” by keeping it stock or a turbo with a low economical boost computer map. And it can take you a couple hours or a couple days to tune a car according to the resources you have to work with and the experience of the ones doing the work.
    Hope this helps you.

the integra gsr is fast but is heavier then the civic hatch …..the hatch vtech is going to need a engine swap definitely.the integra you wont have that problem
