Would There Be A Big Difference In Driving A Turbo Car Like The Evo Vs. A 2002 Honda Si?

4 Comments 28 November 2009

(For people who drove the lancer evolution) I am 16 and want to purchase the lancer evo. I’ve been practicing driving clutch on a honda and i’m not so smooth with it. Should I keep practicing on the honda or should I just drive the evo until i’m a good at it.

Practice on honda all the way. You don’t want to start having problems on the $22k evo 8/9. Plus having the evo at such young age is going to be very tough on your budget. Your insurance rate for the evo is probably max and its probably around $450 per month for just the insurance itself. Plus, considering the side costs like gas, super expenisve maintenance, etc.

Yeah just keep doing it on the honda till your good at blancing it. Learn how to stand still when your on a up hill. But even after all that when you get in the evo it will be different bc all stick cars are different. Like the clutch engages sooner or later. Good luck!

stick with the honda until you’re good at it. then give yourself another 3 years minimum. with a teen behind the wheel a car like the evo is in the highest insurance class as well as very likely to get you killed in an accident.
